This week we have been reviewing the chores and continuing our house chapter by starting to learn and talk about the furniture in different rooms, starting with das Wohnzimmer. (Notes attached below). By Friday, you should know the chores well enough that you can: 1. Listen to the chore and show your understanding with the corresponding gesture. (List of chores posted below) 2. Say your dialogue (phone conversation between parent and child)

Now that you know the rooms in the house and the etiquette involved in visiting someone's house, it's time to talk about chores. Imagine you were participating in our German exchange program and were living with a host family for a couple weeks - in this situation, you would need to offer to do some chores like washing dishes or ask if and how you can do your laundry. We will be learning these phrases in this part of the chapter.
Practice here: https://quizlet.com/_31ynne There will be a quiz on Friday, February 15th over the house, rooms, and adjectives to describe both. There will be some chores on the quiz as well. We learned about some unique features when it comes to living in a German home, and we learned about a typical German architectural style for houses called "das Fachwerkhaus." You made your own mini-Haus and this week, you will be completing that project by writing your paragraph describing it. We will work on this together in class, but the final due date in Wednesday, February 6th for the house and the paragraph.
