This week is the final week of the making plans chapter. At the end of last week, we listened to another dialogue between Guenther and Louisa (file attached) and used that as an example to write your own. This dialogue focuses on all the ways to say maybe. Write a dialogue based on the following situation. Schüler A You really want to do something this weekend. You invite your friend to hang out, but they are being flaky! You keep suggesting different ideas (at least 3) until they eventually say yes! Plan out the details: when and where. Also tell them you will pick them up! Schüler B Your friend asks you to hang out on the weekend. You wouldn’t mind doing something, but you would much rather stay home and watch t.v. with your dog. Without telling your actual reason, react to their questions with your own questions and lots of maybes and reasons why you can’t go. You finally decide to agree after they ask you 3 times! Record on Voice Memo. Airdrop it or send to [email protected] This week, you will get good at rejecting plans and giving excuses (vocab attached below). At the end of this week, you will be able to have a spontaneous conversation using all the phrases from this chapter. Here is a Quizlet to review phrases from the original dialogue: https://quizlet.com/_562fn9
By this week, you should know the invitation questions very well (Gehst du mit..., Gehen wir..., Willst du........gehen) and be able to invite people to different places/events. We are extending our vocabulary in the Making Plans chapter with various ways to respond to invitations. For Friday's quiz, make sure you can: -ask someone to go various places - use in den, ins, in die accurately - Accept offers in different ways (Klingt gut, prima, gute idee, warum nicht) - Say maybe in at least 3 different ways (vielleicht, mal sehen, ich weiss nicht....)
This week we started the next part of our free time unit: Making Plans. Over the next couple weeks, you will learn how to: Ask someone to go with you to different places. Accept and reject offers politely and with detail. Give comments and ask follow-up questions to set the final plans. There is a large speaking component to this chapter, so make sure to practice a lot so that you can use these phrases naturally! Link to the Nearpod from this week.
